Our Story
Somewhere in the back of our minds, we always had this idea of having a restaurant. We also had a lot of other ideas, like training as teachers and musicians, joining a touring band, starting a school of music and discipleship, becoming parents.... and we've loved all of those. Then slowly the food idea started to grow.
Then we said 'let's do this' and we registered as a business.
We've always enjoyed creating ways of gathering people around food; the classic 'bring a toaster' breakfast with piles of toast, butter, jam and Marmite. The dartboard pizza evening where your aim determined your toppings. And the many meals around a bonfire, which is possibly the best way ever to enjoy food. This particular phase of food life started with Dave buying a smoker (all of our projects start off with one of Dave's ideas). We (well, he) learned a lot about smoking meat and got a lot of practice on family and friends.
And here we are now. Up all night smoking meat (pulled pork takes 14 hours) so you can enjoy the tenderness, the full taste and all the love that comes with it. Up early in the morning preparing the sides because we want you to have the freshest food possible. Prepping, creating, planning meals, so you can experience genuine, wood-fired smoked meat and veg and be one of the few in the UK who have ever eaten it.
